Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the University organized a distinguished celebration on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, attended by the Vice Presidents, Deans, the Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, and a number of university staff. The event was held in an atmosphere marked by appreciation and gratitude for the vital role of workers in supporting the University’s academic mission.
The ceremony commenced with a speech delivered by Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, who conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the University Presidency, emphasizing that the University regards its workers as a fundamental pillar for sustaining institutional performance, given their sincere efforts in maintaining a safe, organized, and sustainable educational environment.
He noted that the University’s continuous development in infrastructure and operational efficiency is closely linked to the dedication of its workers, who embody the values of responsibility, belonging, and excellence. These efforts align with the principles of decent work and productivity, which are central to Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
He further highlighted that the University’s commitment to empowering and recognizing its workers reflects its dedication to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by fostering a fair and inclusive work environment, as well as supporting Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through ensuring safe and healthy working conditions.
The celebration also featured a recognition ceremony, where the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, alongside the Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, Mr. Abdulridha Shaker, honored the workers with financial rewards and certificates of appreciation. This initiative underscores the University’s human-centered approach and its commitment to promoting a culture of recognition and motivation, in line with the principles of social sustainability.
