As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of higher education and advance postgraduate studies in Iraq, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law at Al-Mustaqbal University, chaired a ministerial committee tasked with evaluating the establishment of a Master's program in Law at Al-Maarifa Institute for Graduate Studies in Baghdad, alongside a distinguished group of academics from various Iraqi universities.
This assignment was carried out in accordance with Ministerial Order No. (54020/1210) issued by the Department of Graduate Studies within the Research and Development Directorate of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The committee’s work focused on assessing the academic and institutional requirements necessary for launching the proposed program in line with approved quality and accreditation standards, thereby contributing to the advancement of legal education and scientific research in Iraq.
The chairmanship of this committee by Professor Dr. Al-Husseini reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s active role in supporting the development of higher education and strengthening academic cooperation among Iraqi institutions. Such efforts contribute to enhancing educational quality, promoting academic excellence, and fostering knowledge-based development.
This initiative is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through supporting and expanding postgraduate educational opportunities, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by preparing highly qualified legal professionals capable of promoting justice, the rule of law, and effective institutional governance.
