Professor Dr Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, represented the University at the IAU-EAIE Internationalisation Leadership Dialogue 2026, held on 8 September 2026 at the Sir Jim McDonald Technology and Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
The high-level dialogue was organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the European Association for International Education (EAIE), bringing together university presidents and higher education leaders from around the world to discuss contemporary approaches and strategies for the internationalisation of higher education in light of rapidly evolving global challenges.
During his participation, Professor Dr Hassan Shaker Majdi held a number of bilateral meetings with Dr Hilligje van't Land, Secretary General of the International Association of Universities, as well as with university presidents and heads of participating delegations. The meetings focused on exploring prospects for academic cooperation, developing international partnerships, and establishing new pathways for collaboration among higher education institutions.
Professor Dr Majdi also presented a commemorative Iraqi cultural plaque, reflecting Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to promoting Iraq’s cultural and academic presence at international forums and strengthening bridges of communication and exchange among universities worldwide.
The University’s participation reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic commitment to expanding its international network and engaging with global higher education practices and experiences. It also highlights the University’s efforts to adopt contemporary approaches to academic internationalisation and contribute to the development of a more open, competitive, and globally connected educational and research environment.
This participation further underscores Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening international academic cooperation, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and developing strategic partnerships that contribute to advancing the quality of education and research while creating broader opportunities for students, researchers, and academic staff to engage with the global academic community.
