In the presence of Professor Dr Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the University held a virtual meeting with representatives of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United States and OHLA, a global strategic partner in the field of TOEFL/ETS testing, to explore prospects for cooperation in developing students’ and graduates’ academic and language skills and designing specialized training programmes that respond to their academic and professional needs.
The meeting was attended by Professor Dr Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Al-Mustaqbal University; Dr Hussein Al-Sheikh, representative of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché; Dr Alaa Shakir; and representatives of OHLA, Jenny Nevin, Mahsa Tavakoli, and Karin Gahramaniants. The meeting also brought together Professor Dr Wael Al-Nadawi, Director of the Continuing Education Center, along with members of the University Presidency, including Tabarak Hassan, Ali Jasim, and Elaf Al-Khafaji.
Professor Dr Hassan Shaker Majdi emphasized that this cooperation reflects the University’s commitment to empowering students and graduates with English language skills that support their academic and professional pathways. He noted that the proposed training programmes could be designed in flexible and diverse formats, ranging from preparation for TOEFL examinations and the development of English communication skills for business purposes to preparing students who intend to pursue further studies at international universities.
The meeting also addressed mechanisms for cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and OHLA to provide specialized and flexible training programmes tailored to participants’ proficiency levels and objectives, while benefiting from international expertise in developing English language skills in accordance with internationally recognized standards and practices.
This cooperation forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to expand its international partnerships and enhance the readiness of its students and graduates to engage in global academic and professional environments. It also aligns with the University’s vision of providing quality education and developing practical skills that respond to future needs and labour-market requirements.
