The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majidi, received the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Haleem Al-Qayyim, along with the teaching and administrative staff of the Anesthesia Technology Department, on the occasion of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in the Department receiving National Programme Accreditation.
The accreditation was granted pursuant to Ministerial Order No. (84122-1305), dated 29 July 2026, issued by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority / Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation, based on the minutes of the fifth session of the National Council for the Accreditation of Programmes of Colleges and Institutes of Health and Medical Technologies.
During the meeting, the University President commended the outstanding efforts made by the teaching and administrative staff of the College and Department, emphasizing that the national programme accreditation represents an important indicator of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to quality assurance and academic accreditation standards. It also reflects the University’s dedication to developing its academic programmes and curricula and upgrading its infrastructure and specialized laboratories, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified health and medical professionals capable of meeting the needs of the healthcare sector and labour market in accordance with recognized professional standards.
He emphasized that academic accreditation is not an end in itself, but rather a continuous process of evaluation, improvement, and development. He directed the Department to continue working towards fulfilling the requirements of the subsequent stages and maintaining the achieved standards of quality, while encouraging other academic departments across the University to benefit from the experience of the Anesthesia Technology Department and pursue programme accreditation.
The University President also commended the efforts of all parties that contributed to achieving this accomplishment, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts among academic departments, college deanships, and quality assurance and university performance units in ensuring sustainable academic and institutional improvement.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President presented Certificates of Appreciation to the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies and members of the Anesthesia Technology Department in recognition of their efforts and contributions to fulfilling the accreditation requirements and achieving this academic accomplishment.
For her part, the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Haleem Al-Qayyim, expressed her appreciation to the University Presidency for its continued support. She emphasized that obtaining the accreditation is the result of collective efforts and effective cooperation among the teaching and administrative staff, the Department, and the Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit. She also noted that the College is committed to building on this experience and extending it to its other academic programmes.
This achievement aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through strengthening the quality of academic programmes and enhancing the educational and training environment; SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by contributing to the preparation of qualified healthcare professionals capable of supporting the quality of healthcare services; and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through aligning educational outcomes with labour market needs and developing professional competencies.
