College of Agricultural Technologies Launches Campaign to Promote Plant Health and Sustainability

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Technologies, Professor Dr. Mahdi Abdul Kadhim Abd, the College of Agricultural Technologies, in cooperation with the University Sustainability Division, organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of the International Day of Plant Health. The campaign included the distribution of educational brochures to students across the university campus.
The campaign aimed to promote awareness of the importance of plant health and its vital role in preserving the environment, achieving food security, and supporting sustainable development, in addition to spreading environmental and agricultural awareness among students and encouraging them to adopt sustainability-oriented practices.
The distributed brochures included educational information on the importance of protecting plants from pests and diseases, as well as the role of plant health in preserving biodiversity and reducing environmental and food-related challenges, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Goal 13: Climate Action, and Goal 15: Life on Land.
The campaign witnessed positive engagement from students, who showed great interest in the information and guidance provided, reflecting Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to supporting awareness activities and promoting sustainability concepts within the university community.
