Al-Mustaqbal University Inaugurates the Technological Science Gardens Unit to Enhance Innovation and Applied Sciences

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University inaugurated the Technological Science Gardens Unit, becoming the first college to establish such a unit. This initiative is in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at supporting innovation and enhancing applied scientific environments.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the ministerial accreditation evaluation team, represented by Professor Dr. Safaa Mustafa, Head of the Team; Assistant Professor Dr. Hawraa Natiq Kbroot, Vice President of the National Accreditation Council for Health and Medical Technical Colleges; and supervising member Professor Dr. Dawood Salman Mahdi. Representing the University Presidency was Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision.
The establishment of the unit was supervised by the Dean of the College, Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qayyim, with follow-up by Engineer Hawraa Halim Khalil, as part of the College’s efforts to provide an incubating environment for student innovation and the development of scientific projects.
The Technological Science Gardens Unit hosts a collection of student innovations in health and medical fields, supervised by a group of faculty members. It aims to support, develop, and transform these innovations into applicable and marketable projects while ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights for innovators.
The unit represents an integrated scientific platform that bridges academic learning with practical application, encourages student innovation and entrepreneurship, and contributes to providing the healthcare sector with modern technological solutions that meet societal needs and keep pace with global advancements.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through providing advanced applied learning environments, Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by supporting health-related innovations, Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by promoting research and technological development, and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through fostering entrepreneurship and transforming ideas into productive projects.
This achievement reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to its pioneering role in supporting innovation and developing national competencies, contributing to the establishment of a sustainable knowledge-based economy and serving society.
