In alignment with its vision to consolidate the principles of sustainable development and enhance integration between academic institutions and service sectors, and under the directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the University continues to implement its program aimed at expanding institutional partnerships through a series of field visits conducted by Engineer Khalid Kazem Al-Salhi, Director of the Sustainable Development Division at the University, to several governmental institutions in Babylon Governorate. The purpose of these visits was to sign the “Future Sustainability Charter 2026”.
The visits included meetings with directors and officials of governmental and service institutions, during which the charter forms were signed with the Director General of Babylon Investment Commission, the Director General of Babylon Health Directorate, the Director of Babylon Environment Directorate, and the Director of Urban Planning Directorate. The charter represents a practical framework for joint cooperation in the fields of sustainability, smart transformation, emission reduction, social responsibility, and the development of effective partnerships that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
This initiative comes as part of the University’s efforts to strengthen its leading role in promoting a culture of sustainability and linking the academic sector with executive and service institutions, thereby achieving integration in implementing initiatives and projects with positive social and environmental impact.
Engineer Khalid Kazem Al-Salhi emphasized that the “Future Sustainability Charter 2026” serves as a joint cooperation platform that brings together academic and governmental institutions under a unified vision toward a “green and sustainable future,” through the adoption of purposeful technological innovation, educational empowerment, partnership development, and the reinforcement of social responsibility.
For their part, the directors of the respective departments expressed their appreciation to Al-Mustaqbal University for its efforts in building bridges of cooperation between academic institutions and various state service and production sectors, contributing to local development and supporting the achievement of national Sustainable Development Goals.
