As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s orientation towards expanding its scientific partnerships and strengthening its academic presence at the Arab and international levels, the University held a virtual meeting via video conference with Al-Azhar University in the Arab Republic of Egypt on Sunday, 3/5/2026, to explore prospects for joint cooperation in areas of mutual interest, contributing to the achievement of sustainability goals in higher education.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, along with a number of department directors at the University Presidency. From the side of Al-Azhar University, several relevant officials and academics participated.
The meeting included a comprehensive presentation about Al-Mustaqbal University, highlighting its key achievements in scientific research, the consolidation of the educational process, and the development of a sustainable academic environment. It also showcased the University’s Arab and international partnerships established in recent years, its contribution to enhancing the quality of education, and its efforts toward transitioning into more efficient and sustainable academic institutions, in addition to its advanced positions in international rankings and its distinguished status in the national university ranking.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms for activating future cooperation, including academic exchange programs, joint scientific research, organizing scientific events, and exchanging expertise, with a focus on projects that support environmental and academic sustainability and align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to quality education, innovation, and effective institutional partnerships.
Both parties emphasized the importance of directing cooperation toward producing scientific knowledge that contributes to addressing developmental challenges, improving resource efficiency, and developing sustainable solutions in education and scientific research, thereby strengthening the role of universities in serving society and achieving sustainable development.
This meeting comes within Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategy aimed at building solid bridges of cooperation with distinguished universities, enhancing the quality of education, advancing academic and research performance, and supporting its journey toward leadership, excellence, and sustainability.
