Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the College of Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University organized its First Engineering Forum titled “Engineering and Its Role in Achieving Sustainable Employment Opportunities.” The forum was held today with the participation of a distinguished group of academics, specialists, and representatives of relevant institutions, as well as faculty members and students, in line with the university’s orientation toward promoting sustainability concepts and linking education with labor market requirements.
The forum was inaugurated with a speech by the President of the University, followed by a speech by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shaker Majdi. Both emphasized the importance of developing educational outcomes in accordance with labor market needs and strengthening the role of the College of Engineering in preparing qualified engineers capable of contributing effectively to sustainable development.
The forum included a series of scientific lectures addressing key contemporary topics, including climate change, applications of artificial intelligence in the medical field, and sustainable architecture, in addition to highlighting the essential engineering skills required in today’s labor market. The sessions featured speakers from both inside and outside the university.

The event also showcased outstanding student projects and contributions that reflected the creativity and innovation of the College of Engineering students. These projects covered various fields, including waste recycling, engineering simulation of biological systems, innovation in prosthetics, as well as energy-related and sustainability-focused projects.
The forum concluded with a recognition ceremony honoring participants and supporters, emphasizing the college’s commitment to supporting scientific and applied activities that enhance students’ skills and improve their readiness for the labor market.
This forum aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), through promoting applied education, strengthening engineering innovation, and linking academic knowledge with the needs of society and the labor market.
