Environmental Initiative at Al-Mustaqbal University to Expand Green Spaces on Campus

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi , and within the university’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and strengthening sustainability concepts, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education organized an environmental initiative on the occasion of the spring season. The initiative involved planting flower seedlings across the university campus on Thursday, 16/4/2026.
The activity witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, who contributed to planting the seedlings in a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere, reflecting their awareness of the importance of environmental preservation and the enhancement of green spaces within the university.
This initiative aims to promote a culture of sustainability and encourage positive environmental practices, as well as to create a healthy and attractive campus environment that supports students’ well-being and improves the overall quality of life.
The event comes as part of a series of activities implemented by Al-Mustaqbal University in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), through expanding green areas and raising environmental awareness within the academic community.
Through such initiatives, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting environmental and awareness-driven activities, contributing to the development of a generation that is conscious of sustainability issues and capable of building a more sustainable future.
