Al-Mustaqbal University Promotes Women Empowerment through Participation in an International Conference at University of Baghdad

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the university participated in the 4th International Scientific Conference on Women’s Sports, organized by University of Baghdad, represented by the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, under the theme: (Entrepreneurship Applications and Knowledge Gardens… Horizons for Excellence in Sports Sciences), held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
This participation reflects the university’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering women in sports and academia, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through enhancing research quality and skill development, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by linking educational outcomes with labor market needs and entrepreneurship in the sports sector.
The conference witnessed high-level academic and official attendance, including representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, alongside prominent academic leaders, researchers, and specialists in sports sciences.
In his remarks, the University President emphasized the importance of integrating scientific research with entrepreneurship as a key pillar for achieving sustainability. He reaffirmed the commitment of Al-Mustaqbal University to supporting initiatives that develop women’s capacities and open new professional opportunities for graduates.
On the sidelines of the conference, discussions were held on enhancing academic collaboration among Iraqi universities, contributing to the achievement of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) of the Sustainable Development Goals through knowledge exchange and joint research development.
