Under the patronage and supervision of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, and based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the staff of the Sustainable Development Division participated in the tree planting campaign carried out by the university on Saturday, March 12, 2026, in alignment with the National Tree Planting Program.
Eng. Khalid Al-Salhi, Director of the Division, stated that the division’s participation included planning, coordinating with the university’s colleges and departments, supervising the campaign’s implementation, and actively participating in planting several perennial trees in the university campus and its affiliated nature reserve. These efforts aim to increase green cover in line with the university’s strategy for greening the campus and to translate the university’s slogan: “Al-Mustaqbal University… Towards a Sustainable University.”
This initiative aligns with the division’s commitment to supporting environmental initiatives in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
SDG 13 – Climate action.
SDG 15 – Life on land.
SDG 12 – Responsible consumption and production.
The campaign also forms part of the university’s ongoing efforts to instill environmental awareness among students and the broader university community, promoting volunteer work and sustainable practices, thereby reinforcing Al-Mustaqbal University’s role as a leading educational institution in environmental sustainability.
