Launch of the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory at Al-Mustaqbal University to Support Sustainable Agricultural Innovation

Al-Mustaqbal University, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, inaugurated the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory at the College of Agricultural Technologies on Thursday, March 12, 2026. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to supporting applied research and promoting sustainable agricultural innovation.
The laboratory focuses on developing advanced biotechnological techniques for plant propagation, enhancing plant quality, and producing high-efficiency plant varieties. It also plays a vital role in preserving plant diversity and strengthening food security.
The laboratory provides students with hands-on training, enabling them to acquire practical and research skills in agriculture and biotechnology, thus preparing a generation of professionals capable of developing sustainable solutions to agricultural challenges.
The inauguration aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
SDG 2 – Zero Hunger.
SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
