In line with its commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and supporting national efforts to protect the environment, Al-Mustaqbal University, under the patronage of its President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, implemented a large-scale tree-planting campaign across the university campus and its surrounding areas. The campaign resulted in the planting of 10,000 perennial tree seedlings as part of the National Afforestation Program and was organized and supervised by the Office Affairs Department at the University Presidency.
This initiative aligns with the university’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through expanding green spaces and strengthening vegetation cover, which contributes to improving the campus environment and mitigating the environmental impacts of climate change.
The campaign witnessed active participation from academic leaders, faculty members, university staff, and students, particularly members of the Sustainability Ambassadors Initiative, reflecting the university’s dedication to raising environmental awareness and encouraging volunteerism and community engagement.
Through this initiative, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting environmental initiatives that promote sustainability and strengthen the role of higher education institutions in protecting the environment and serving society, in alignment with national and global efforts toward building a more sustainable future
