Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in line with the university’s approach to enhancing applied education and linking academic outcomes with the needs of the health sector, the Department of Medical Physics at the College of Science organized a scientific training field trip for the department’s students to Al-Hilla Teaching Hospital on Monday, March 8, 2026, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Ali Jafar Ubaid and Assistant Lecturer Hamza Abbas Jawad.
The visit included field tours of several specialized hospital departments, during which students observed the operation of various medical devices related to medical physics applications, including the Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) machine for kidney stone treatment, a laser device for vision correction, as well as audiology and speech analysis devices for testing hearing efficiency and analyzing speech.
This scientific trip aims to strengthen the integration between theoretical knowledge and practical application, familiarize students with the working environment within healthcare institutions, and contribute to developing their practical skills while preparing qualified scientific personnel to work in the health sector.
This initiative aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education), by advancing applied education in medical specialties and preparing skilled healthcare professionals for the evolving healthcare sector.
