Al-Mustaqbal University Commemorates International Women’s Day and Promotes Empowerment

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the university celebrated International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, 2026, recognizing women’s vital role in academic and societal development and highlighting their contributions to innovation and excellence.
The event was attended by Dr. Muzfar Al-Zuhairi, Director of Academic Oversight, along with deans, department heads, faculty members, and students. Dr. Al-Zuhairi commended women’s achievements within the university and society, emphasizing the importance of supporting their active participation across all fields.
Ms. Mari Imran Al-Taie, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, delivered an official speech highlighting women’s role in shaping future generations and fostering development, while acknowledging the outstanding efforts of units and committees in organizing the activities.
The celebration included various cultural and artistic programs, such as an art exhibition by the College of Fine Arts, a traditional Iraqi heritage session, and poetry recitals in both classical and colloquial Arabic.
The event aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
The university reaffirmed that empowering women and supporting their participation across all areas is a cornerstone for building an innovative and sustainable knowledge-based society.
