Al-Mustaqbal University in Iraq organized a special event to celebrate Earth Day (April 22, 2025) as part of the activities of the "3rd Al-Mustaqbal International Sustainability Festival." The event was attended by professors, students, and university staff. University President Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi delivered a speech highlighting environmental challenges facing Iraq and the world, followed by a documentary showcasing the university’s environmental initiatives.

The celebration featured exhibitions promoting hydroponic farming, raising awareness about the dangers of plastic waste, and visits to organic farms and greenhouses producing natural crops. Awareness sessions were also held on the impact of pollution on public health and wildlife.

Additionally, the university president inaugurated new agricultural reserves, and various seedlings were planted with the participation of local school students to spread environmental awareness.

Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi reaffirmed the university’s commitment to sustainability and community service, emphasizing that these efforts align with global initiatives aimed at protecting the planet for future generations.
