Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the 12th International Workshop on GreenMetric World University Rankings (IWGM 2026), represented by its President, Professor Dr Hassan Shaker Majdi, who attended the workshop held at the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus of Trier University of Applied Sciences in the Federal Republic of Germany from 24 to 27 August 2026.
Held under the theme “Advancing Sustainable Campuses through Governance, Digitalisation, and Integrated Performance,” the workshop brought together a distinguished group of academic leaders and representatives of universities and higher education institutions from around the world to discuss contemporary approaches to developing sustainable campuses and enhancing the environmental and institutional performance of universities.
Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation provided an opportunity to explore the latest global practices and approaches in university sustainability, governance, and digitalisation, while also facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise with participating academic institutions. This contributes to the University’s ongoing efforts to advance its sustainability framework and strengthen its engagement with international sustainability rankings and initiatives.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr Hassan Shaker Majdi was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his active participation and distinguished representation of Al-Mustaqbal University at this international event. The recognition reflects the University’s growing engagement in global forums addressing sustainability, institutional development, and academic advancement.
