Al-Mustaqbal University Explores Cooperation with Vocational Education in Babylon in Training, Technology, and Innovation

As part of its commitment to strengthening partnerships between higher education and vocational education institutions and promoting the integration of academic knowledge with practical training, a joint delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University, comprising representatives from the Technical Engineering College and Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center, conducted a field visit to the Vocational Education Department in Babylon Governorate to explore prospects for scientific and technical cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two sides.
The visit aimed to identify areas of joint cooperation, exchange technical and specialized expertise, and support scientific and applied projects in ways that contribute to developing the technical and vocational education environment and enhancing students’ capabilities in line with rapid technological advancements in engineering and technology.
The visit included a field tour of one of the vocational schools in the governorate, accompanied by Dr. Anwar Qasim Saeed, Head of the Technical and Scientific Division at the Vocational Education Department. The delegation reviewed the existing technical workshops, laboratories, and training facilities and discussed opportunities to develop training capacities and strengthen the practical dimension of vocational education.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of organizing joint workshops and training programmes aimed at developing students’ practical and technical skills and enhancing their ability to engage with modern technologies. The discussions also highlighted opportunities to benefit from the specialized academic and technical expertise available at Al-Mustaqbal University in the fields of engineering, energy, and technology.
This initiative reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to fulfilling its community and developmental role and its continued efforts to establish effective partnerships with educational and vocational institutions in Babylon Governorate. Such cooperation contributes to strengthening integration between academic, technical, and vocational education while supporting the preparation of a new generation of graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required to enter the labour market and contribute to economic and community development.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by supporting technical and vocational education, providing opportunities for practical learning, and developing students’ skills; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through enhancing vocational and technical competencies and improving students’ readiness for the labour market; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by supporting innovation, technology, and applied projects; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through establishing effective institutional partnerships between the University and educational and vocational sectors.
Through such initiatives, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its commitment to leveraging its scientific and technical expertise in service of the community, supporting sustainable education, and expanding opportunities for young people to acquire future-ready skills, thereby contributing to a more integrated educational system capable of responding effectively to development priorities and labour market needs.
