Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes Scientific Workshop on Plant Health and Environmental Sustainability

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Technologies, Professor Dr. Mahdi Abdul Kadhim Abd, with the follow-up of the Assistant Dean, Professor Dr. Tahani Jawad Mohammed Ali, the College of Agricultural Technologies organized an educational scientific workshop entitled “Plant Health for Environmental Sustainability” in conjunction with the International Day of Plant Health, with the participation of a number of academics and students.
The workshop included specialized scientific lectures delivered by Professor Dr. Majeed Kadhim Abbas, Professor Dr. Aqeel Handhal, and Engineer Khalid Kadhim, Director of the Sustainability Division at Al-Mustaqbal University. The lectures addressed the latest scientific methods for protecting plants from pests and diseases, as well as the importance of promoting environmental and agricultural awareness in order to achieve food security and sustainable development.
The workshop also witnessed remarkable interaction from attendees through scientific discussions and interventions that highlighted the vital role of plant health in preserving biodiversity and sustaining agricultural ecosystems, in addition to supporting efforts aimed at addressing environmental and food-related challenges.
This activity comes as part of a series of scientific and awareness initiatives regularly organized by Al-Mustaqbal University in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Goal 13: Climate Action, and Goal 15: Life on Land.
At the conclusion of the workshop, awareness brochures were distributed to students across the university campus to promote environmental and agricultural culture and reinforce sustainability concepts within the academic community.
