Affirming its firm commitment to environmental sustainability and its role in fostering community awareness, and under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and the supervision of the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the Sustainable Development Unit, in cooperation with the Diwan Affairs Department, organized the Future Ambassadors for Sustainability and Soil Protection Forum, coinciding with World Soil Day.

The event witnessed broad participation by approximately 400 male and female students—Sustainability Ambassadors—from various colleges of the University, reflecting the growing environmental awareness among Al-Mustaqbal University students and their eagerness to actively contribute to initiatives supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to ecosystem protection and the sustainable use of natural resources.

The forum included a comprehensive awareness campaign on soil protection, presented by Professor Dr. Tahani Jawad Mohammed from the Diwan Affairs Department, focusing on sound practices for soil conservation and mitigating soil degradation. Biodegradable planting pots were also adopted as a practical step aimed at reducing plastic pollution and supporting the principles of sustainable agriculture and the green economy.

In addition, students took part in scientific field tours within the Al-Mustaqbal University Botanical Reserve, where they learned about soil characteristics and types, their relationship with plants and biodiversity, and the role of the reserve in protecting soil and reducing erosion and degradation. This enhanced the practical dimension of the activity and linked theoretical knowledge with real-world application.

This event forms part of a series of institutional initiatives implemented by Al-Mustaqbal University within the framework of its social responsibility, and its endeavor to empower students as Sustainability Ambassadors and active partners in spreading environmental awareness, protecting natural resources, and preserving the environment for future generations.
