Al-Mustaqbal University Explores Industry Collaboration in Advisory Council Meeting

In line with Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic orientation toward strengthening integration between the academic environment and the industrial sector, and aligning its educational outputs with sustainable development requirements, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, attended part of the meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council of the College of Engineering Technologies. The meeting was held in the presence of the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, as well as council members representing experts, industrial sector representatives, trade unions, and employers.
The session commenced with a welcoming speech delivered by the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, in which he welcomed the President of the University and the attendees, emphasizing the importance of the Industrial Advisory Council in strengthening communication between the college and the labor and production sectors. This, he noted, contributes to the development of academic programs and the enhancement of educational outcomes.
This was followed by a speech from the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, in which he stressed that industrial advisory councils represent a fundamental bridge for communication between academic institutions and the industrial sector. He highlighted the University’s vision of transforming into a leading institution in creativity and innovation, capable of aligning its educational outcomes with development requirements and labor market needs.
He further explained that the areas of cooperation enabled through the council include updating academic curricula in line with labor market demands, providing practical training opportunities for students in industrial sites, offering scientific and engineering consultations, and contributing to the development of technical solutions to industrial challenges through applied research conducted by the university’s colleges and research centers.
For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, addressed the University’s direction in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, referring to the establishment of the Science and Technology Parks Department. He noted that industrial partners could play a pivotal role in activating this department by supporting and adopting students’ innovative ideas and transforming them into startup companies, thereby contributing to job creation and reducing unemployment rates.
The meeting also witnessed several interventions and proposals presented by council members, which were attentively received by the University President, who provided a number of observations and directives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the council and expanding areas of cooperation between the University and the industrial sector.
It is worth noting that the Industrial Advisory Council of the College of Engineering Technologies is chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, and includes in its membership the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and the heads of academic departments, in addition to a select group of experts, company owners, representatives of trade unions, and various industrial sectors.
