Department of Business Administration at Al-Mustaqbal University Actively Participates in the First Scientific Conference on Addressing Unemployment and Poverty

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening its academic and societal role in addressing developmental issues, the Department of Business Administration actively participated in the First Scientific Conference on Addressing Unemployment and Poverty, titled: “Integrating Knowledge and Policies toward Sustainable Solutions that Create Impact,” which was held in partnership between the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with broad participation from academics, experts, and decision-makers.
The Department was represented at the conference by the Head of the Department of Business Administration, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjad Hameed Majid, and Lecturer Assistant Mr. Karrar Haider Hassoon. Their participation reflected the University’s commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at addressing economic and social challenges through scientific research and specialized academic perspectives.
The conference was attended by Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, Scientific Deputy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Khalid Battal, Deputy Minister of Planning, in addition to a distinguished group of academics, experts, and representatives of governmental institutions. The scientific sessions focused on discussing sustainable solutions for addressing unemployment and poverty and enhancing economic development.
During the conference, the representatives of the Department of Business Administration presented scientific insights and research-based ideas that contribute to reducing unemployment and poverty by strengthening the integration between academic knowledge and public policies, thereby supporting labor market development, improving human resource efficiency, and achieving sustainable economic growth.
The conference also served as an important scientific platform for exchanging expertise and ideas and discussing sustainable developmental solutions, further reinforcing the role of universities in supporting national development plans and evidence-based policymaking.
This participation aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1 (No Poverty) through supporting developmental initiatives and sustainable economic solutions; Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through supporting employment policies, skills development, and job opportunities; Goal 4 (Quality Education) through employing scientific research to address societal challenges; and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cooperation between academic and governmental institutions in addressing developmental challenges.
Through such scientific engagements, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its commitment to supporting academic and research initiatives that contribute to community service, sustainable development pathways, and the establishment of a knowledge-based economy.
