As part of its ambitious vision to strengthen institutional leadership and reinforce the principles of sustainable development, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, chaired a strategic meeting that brought together the directors of research centers, the Continuing Education Center, and the Department of Science and Technology Parks, in the presence of the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi. The meeting aimed to review institutional performance and develop a roadmap for the upcoming phase in a manner that enhances the role of research centers and strengthens integration with the University’s colleges and various academic units.
During the meeting, the University President emphasized the importance of adopting an advanced strategy that would transform the University into a “productive university” through supporting entrepreneurial and innovative projects and strengthening partnerships with the private sector, particularly following the establishment of the Department of Science and Technology Parks. He stressed the need to launch qualitative initiatives capable of addressing contemporary local and global challenges, particularly in the fields of energy, climate change, and health, in addition to creating new employment opportunities that contribute to poverty reduction and addressing unemployment.
He also highlighted the importance of preparing specialized training programs aimed at capacity building and skills development for various groups, as well as strengthening openness and cooperation with governmental, private, and community sectors, thereby reinforcing the University’s role as a center for knowledge production, innovation, and community service.
The meeting included detailed presentations on the most significant activities and initiatives implemented by the centers during the previous period, along with the qualitative achievements that supported the University’s progress in scientific research, community service, and institutional innovation.
For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary integration, knowledge sharing, and teamwork, noting that artificial intelligence applications have become a fundamental pillar across various scientific and humanities disciplines, alongside the growing importance of the energy sector as one of the key pillars of the future and sustainable development.
This meeting aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through enhancing educational and research environments and promoting capacity building; Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through supporting entrepreneurial projects and creating job opportunities; Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by promoting scientific research, innovation, and technology; Goal 13 (Climate Action) through supporting initiatives related to energy and climate change; and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by expanding cooperation with various sectors and institutions.
Through these strategic steps, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to establish a modern university model that integrates education, scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, positioning the University as an active platform for creating solutions and building a sustainable future based on knowledge and creativity.
