On Saturday, 9/5/2026, the Council of Al-Mustaqbal University, chaired by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, hosted a delegation of students who participated in the international training and cultural exchange program organized by Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) in the Republic of Türkiye.
During the meeting, the students presented details of their participation in the training program entitled “Green Steps for Youth – A Shared Future,” which was held in the city of Alanya from 24 April to 2 May 2026. The program included training workshops and field activities focused on environmental sustainability concepts and cultural exchange between Iraqi and Turkish youth.
Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi praised the outstanding experience gained by the students, emphasizing the University’s commitment to engaging its students in reputable international forums that enhance their leadership, academic, and cultural skills. He further noted that the cooperation with ALKU University in Türkiye falls within the University’s strategy of global academic openness and the establishment of effective international partnerships.
This program is directly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through providing international educational and training opportunities that contribute to students’ skill development; Goal 13 (Climate Action) by promoting environmental awareness and sustainability concepts; and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between universities and international institutions.
The students, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the University Presidency for providing this valuable international opportunity, which enriched their academic and cultural experiences and enhanced their ability to engage with global perspectives and exchange knowledge with students from diverse backgrounds.
It is worth noting that this program was the result of joint coordination between Al-Mustaqbal University and several Turkish universities, aimed at strengthening academic and student cooperation in a manner that supports the preparation of a knowledgeable and aware generation capable of contributing to sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University Council encouraged the students to transfer the knowledge and experiences they had acquired to their peers, enabling them to become ambassadors of positive change and development within the university community and beyond.
