The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has officially announced the results of the Iraqi University Rankings 2025, which evaluated more than one hundred public and private universities across Iraq. The assessment was conducted according to rigorous and comprehensive criteria covering the quality of the educational environment, institutional performance, and the effectiveness of scientific research.

This edition of the rankings, supervised by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, evaluated the performance of 103 public and private higher education institutions based on nine principal axes, including:
institutional accreditation standards (15%), international rankings (10%), effectiveness of scientific research (35%), sustainable development and green indicators (10%), evaluation of scientific and academic compliance (5%), academic awards (5%), international diversity (10%), occupational health, safety, and environmental protection (5%), and academic and community activities (5%).

According to the announced results, Al‑Mustaqbal University secured first place among private universities, followed by Warith Al‑Anbiyaa University in second place and the Islamic University in third place.
Among public universities, the University of Baghdad ranked first, followed by the University of Technology in second place and the University of Basrah in third place.

Notably, Al-Mustaqbal University achieved an overall score of 62.46, surpassing the University of Baghdad, which recorded a score of 60.07, reflecting the university’s outstanding performance across key evaluation indicators.

On this occasion, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, extended his sincere congratulations to the university’s faculty members, researchers, staff, and students. He emphasized that this national achievement is the result of strategic planning, collective institutional effort, and sustained investment in scientific research and quality education. This achievement further consolidates Al-Mustaqbal University’s position as a leading academic institution capable of competing at the highest national and international levels, while steadily advancing its academic, research, and societal impact.
