As part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and reinforce its position as a leading academic institution in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Al-Mustaqbal University welcomed the field monitoring committee of the “Sustainable University” competition, organized by the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Environment.
The visiting delegation was received by Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, and Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, along with several department heads and directors of scientific and administrative centers at the university.
At the beginning of the visit, Prof. Dr. Al-Zuhairi presented a detailed overview of the university’s leading sustainability initiatives and their notable outcomes at both the local and international levels—particularly the university’s significant advancement in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025.
The visit aimed to conduct an on-site review of the environmental and developmental projects submitted as part of the competition application, with a focus on real, implemented initiatives across the university campus.
The committee, chaired by the Director of the Entrepreneurship Projects Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, included members from both ministries. They expressed their admiration for the impactful achievements and praised the university's genuine efforts and proactive engagement in meeting the competition's criteria.
